About the Role: As the Director of Sales for Japan, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of this organization’s presence within the Japanese market. You will be responsible for formulating strategic business plans to build and nurture long-term client relationships, grow market share, and expand the company’s footprint across diverse industries.

The ideal candidate will be an influential leader with expertise in consultative sales, business development, and sales operations within the data center and facilities management industry. You will lead your team to meet sales targets, develop client acquisition and retention strategies, and ensure consistent service delivery aligned with the company’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand client relationships and identify new market opportunities for business growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies focused on client retention and acquisition.
  • Position the company as a trusted advisor to clients, not just a service provider.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with clients while maintaining service delivery standards.
  • Assist with short and long-term planning, including annual budgets and sales objectives.
  • Lead by example and communicate the company’s vision, goals, and strategies to the sales team.
  • Act as a change agent to drive business improvements and new initiatives.
  • Foster an open and collaborative work environment, providing feedback to senior management on key issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible sales leadership experience, with a focus on the data center or facilities management industry.
  • Candidate will need to have contacts with hyperscalers and a track record of sales with them.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on consultative sales.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex business data.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of driving innovative solutions.
  • Capable of working as a sole contributor.
