Senior Electrical Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Belgium.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and other engineering disciplines.
- Oversee the design and development of electrical systems and components.
- Utilise software tools for electrical design and simulation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of electrical engineers.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
- Collaborate with other departments such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, and quality assurance.
- Plan and conduct tests to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
- Analyse test results and make design improvements as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during testing.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for electrical designs, specifications, and test procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for project reviews.
- Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and codes.
- Interact with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary certifications and approvals.
- Manage and control costs associated with electrical engineering projects.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in electrical engineering processes.
- Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
- Provide technical support and address client concerns.
- Identify potential risks associated with electrical designs and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and cohesive designs.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Speaking Dutch is an advantage, but not mandatory
- 3-5 years’ experience in the offshore wind industry.
- MSc/MEng preferred or Ba with working experience.
- Experience with (offshore) substations (design phase).
- Critical mindset, process focused, interdisciplinary.
- Electrical Engineer at Low voltage, SCADA and Lighting.
