About the Role:
An international renewable energy company is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its engineering division in Italy. The role will focus on supporting the design, review, and optimization of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This is a key technical position within a multidisciplinary team working on the development of renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support conceptual and permitting-phase electrical designs for PV and BESS projects.
- Review and provide technical input on electrical project designs and construction documentation.
- Analyze grid connection studies and interconnection agreements, offering recommendations for project compliance.
- Evaluate electrical equipment proposals and ensure compatibility with project specifications and standards.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal documentation processes and design standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project milestones and quality requirements.
- Ensure that all deliverables meet internal quality assurance and control standards.
- Perform other technical support tasks as needed in alignment with project needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the design of grid-connected energy projects (renewable or thermal).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with Italian Grid Code and relevant national and international standards (CEI, IEC, etc.) for MV and HV systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical design fundamentals for utility-scale PV and BESS systems, including equipment and cable sizing.
- Experience with grid connection procedures at MV and HV levels, including TICA process.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and PVCase.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Italian fluency required; good command of English
- Chartered Engineer status in Italy is an advantage.
- Experience with specialized electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Magic, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) is a plus.
