The Senior Legal Counsel will work with existing legal professionals in the APAC region, working collaboratively to provide strategic legal support. This role involves close partnerships with local teams, regional leadership, and the UK-based General Counsel team to drive business growth while managing legal and regulatory risks. You will focus on a wide range of areas related to the development and operations of our estates in Japan. We are looking for candidates to provide legal support to business focusing on commercial development transactions such as building contracts, consultancy agreements as well as interconnected agreements including commercial T&C for supplier agreements, relevant aspects of sales agreements and investor led contracts.
- Management of governance, record keeping and compliance with all applicable laws.
- Coordinate with external counsel, joint venture partners, and government agencies whenecessary.
- Negotiation and drafting of contracts and agreements on behalf of the company.
- Able to give confident and assured advice in real time to senior stakeholders
- Organization of JV procedures and reporting/approvals, meetings and filing of annual reports.
- Arranging execution/stamping of final form agreements.
- Support for the company’s risk and audit team where required.
- Providing legal research support and delivering training to the local team where required.

Candidate is expected to have native or fluent Japanese skills, with business level English for global communication.
Ideally, experience in real estate, construction, asset management or commercial development will be useful for this role.
