As a Site Manager, you are responsible for the successful execution of all activities at the assigned construction site. The Site is based in Bavaria, Germany and the successful candidate will be required to be on site 5 days per week.
Your Responsibilities
- You drive the activities on the construction site to achieve the contractual goals and act as the main contact for the customer in all contractual matters.
- You have authority over subcontractors and Hitachi Energy site personnel and ensure that all personnel on the site are well informed about the Scope of Work (SoW) and Division of Work (DoW).
- You manage change management on the construction site, including change orders to subcontractors.
- You ensure that all tests are carried out and accepted by the customer according to the contract conditions.
- You promote a culture of proper understanding and compliance with the health, environmental, and safety requirements of the company, the customer, and local authorities by all site personnel.
- You ensure that all activities are carried out with the expected quality and that all quality records are created and properly archived.
- You ensure that all activities are carried out within the contractual schedules and milestones. You understand the project budget and ensure that the costs for the activities on the site remain within the budget.
- You ensure structured, up-to-date, and reliable documentation on-site and ensure that the work is carried out according to the latest approved processes, instructions, and guidelines.
- You ensure that the contractual obligations are met to the satisfaction of our customers.
Your Background
- We are looking for a committed, structured, well-organised, and goal-oriented person who is a real team player.
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Recognised certifications and training in the areas of health, environment, and safety. IOSH or NEBOSH preferred.
- You bring experience as a construction manager in industrial construction projects with a high degree of complexity and responsibility. You are able to present successes, failures, and the lessons learned from them.
- Experience with HVDC converter stations is desirable.
- You have an understanding of construction contracts with typical terms and conditions.
- You have experience with construction work, installations, and/or commissioning.
- Willingness to work on-site at the construction site.
- You speak German and English fluently.
