Sr. Solar PM Due Diligence

Taylor Hopkinson is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solar Project Manager Due Diligence for a prominent leader in safety science on a global scale, and assists companies in showcasing safety, promoting sustainability, fortifying security, ensuring quality, managing risk, and achieving compliance with regulatory standards.

As a key member of the Due Diligence team, the Senior Project Manager will oversee and implement independent engineering (IE) and technical advisory (TA) services to facilitate the financing, sale, or acquisition of solar PV projects and portfolios. This role is prominent and demands a seasoned professional with strong communication, project management, and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive, self-motivated attitude and a collaborative mindset, demonstrating a commitment to achieving collective goals through teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee high-profile IE and TA projects related to:
  • Project financing
  • Tax equity
  • Sales and acquisitions of solar PV and portfolios
  • Conduct reviews of: Battery technology, Civil and electrical design, Commercial and technical contracts, Project schedules, CAPEX, and OPEX costs, Environmental and permitting requirements
  • Compile and finalize IE and TA reports, ensuring high-quality work that meets client expectations.
  • Prepare proposals detailing scope of work, team, budget, and timeline for completion.
  • Collaborate with internal resources and project managers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project deliverables.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, contributing to internal team growth.
  • Serve as the main client interface for lenders and developers, attending meetings and fostering client relationships.
  • Prepare communication plans and project status reports; facilitate regular status meetings with stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Apply best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Review project contracts and financial models.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and business development meetings.
  • Guide business strategy and development for the due diligence team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of project management experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, energy storage).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering, construction management, finance).
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and manage multiple complex projects.
