Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Oversight: Manage the technical aspects of vessel operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Ensure vessels are maintained to the highest standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Project Management: Lead and oversee technical projects, including vessel dry-docks, retrofits, and newbuilds. Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure vessels comply with international maritime regulations and company safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential safety and compliance issues.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the technical maintenance and repair budget. Monitor expenses, approve expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of marine engineers and technical staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of work and professional development.
• Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance to vessel crew and shore-based teams. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise to minimize operational downtime.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, technical inspections, and repairs. Prepare and present reports on technical performance, budget status, and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. Advanced certifications or a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in marine engineering or technical management within the maritime industry. At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of marine vessel systems, including propulsion, electrical, and automation systems. Familiarity with TSSM Integrated Management System
• Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a technical team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Communication: Professional level on both Mandarin and English. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and contractors.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
