Job Details
The role will be responsible for the full project design from initial feasibility studies to Ready to Build (RtB) status across various technical domains including Solar PV, Wind, Storage, Green Hydrogen, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering, utilizing CAD, modelling, and simulation software.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to the Development team for system feasibility assessments, preliminary layouts, yield studies, drawings, modelling, and other technical documents to secure permits, tenders, and pre-construction design for projects in Europe, the UK, and the US.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor junior engineers in their career development.
- Task Management: Assist the Technical Director in prioritizing and assigning tasks within the Department. Coordinate with the Development team to align design requirements, studies, scheduling, and estimation of project CAPEX, OPEX, and time schedules.
- Collaboration: Work with external partners to provide, review, and approve customer-focused system designs for Utility scale Solar PV, Wind, Storage, and Green Hydrogen projects.
- Optimization: Challenge partners to constantly optimize designs both technically and cost-wise.
- Best Practices: Participate in defining best practices and processes in line with industry standards.
- On-site Support: Provide technical on-site support as needed.
- Expertise Building: Contribute to the development of the organization’s technical expertise.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to the Health and Safety policy in all work aspects.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Qualification:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering is preferred, though other engineering disciplines will be considered.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working as a project manager/engineer in wind and/or solar within an EPC or consultancy company.

Technical Concepts, Tools, and Software:
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering concepts and principles, particularly in renewable energy generation, mechanical, electrical, and structural design.
- Quick and enthusiastic learner with attention to detail.
- Proficient in CAD software (2D and 3D AutoCAD).
- Proficient in PVsyst.
- Skilled in performing Solar Resource Assessment and utilizing Meteorological Data from sources such as Solargis and Meteonorm.
- Knowledge of PVCase, WindPro, Wind Planner, and/or Boxkite is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficient in MS Excel for developing complex models and macros.
- Broad understanding of LV and HV electrical standards and design tools.
- Broad understanding of relevant energy, chemical, mechanical, and electrical standards.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Innovative approach to problem-solving.

Project Management:
- Experience in Solar PV, CSP, and/or Wind project design in a technical role at an EPC or Engineering Consultancy.
- Proficient in teamwork and cloud-based collaboration tools.
- Effective facilitator for resolving technical issues.

Communication and Corporate Essentials:
- Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to colleagues, developers, and consultants.
- Ability to visualize and communicate ideas clearly.
- Understanding of the broader business and environmental impacts of design.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Strong commitment to the mission and working principles of the organization.
