WTG Engineer

Taylor Hopkinson is retained by a global energy developer to apooint the role of WTG Engineer in Germany due t the dynamic gowth of the business and status of current projects.

This is a full time, staff role based in Germany (hybrid working) and you must speak fluent German to be considered.

Role:

  • Technical evaluation and analysis of the WTG related tasks including work package management
  • Managing the schedule for the work package in accordance with the overall project schedule
  • Participation in the development, planning and implementation of offshore wind projects (national/international)
  • Engagement in due diligences, procurement, and contract negotiations of WTG supply as well as the execution of the WTG supply contract during fabrication, construction, and commissioning
  • Ensuring compliance with approval and certification requirements (national/international)
  • Ensuring that related health and safety regulations (HSE) are considered in all phases of a project
  • Developing transport, assembly and installation strategies
  • Participation in the identification and management of technical risks (internal & external) and interfaces to other OWF components
  • Preparation of technical documentation (processes, concepts, specifications)
  • Assisting with the development of business cases, financial models, and schedules to support investment decisions

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical engineering, wind energy technology, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable training
  • Several years practical experience in a comparable position, ideally experience with supply contracts for offshore wind turbines
  • Strong knowledge of WTG technology
  • Project management skills
  • Preferable further knowledge in site development incl. yield calculation and its limitations
  • Experience in the development and/or implementation of offshore (preferred) and onshore wind projects
