We want to lead the way creating an inclusive workforce that is reflective of society and the markets where we operate, within our own business but also for our clients.
The aim of our Diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIB) strategy is to enable a diverse, global workforce that will drive the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We want to lead the way, creating an inclusive workforce that is reflective of society and the markets where we operate, within our own business but also for our clients.
Our dedicated DIB Committee meets monthly and is made up of a diverse range of colleagues from our global offices. This group helps to steer how we bring DIB to life by weaving inclusive practices through our everyday activities, and ultimately playing a key role in delivering our wider DIB strategy.
We partner with dedicated business such as AFBE (Scotland), Voice at the Table and Webridge to continue to guide and evolve our strategy.
In recent years, the importance of mental health in the workplace has increased significantly. We’re proud to partner with Plumm Health, a global online platform that offers professional support to all our employees across the world. This service is completely confidential and can be used for any topic, from mediation to topical webinars. The platform has an online chat function and the service also extends to dedicated therapists for when you need additional support.
Your health and wellbeing are extremely important to us, and we support our colleagues to lead a healthy and fulfilling life – whether physically, mentally or financially. We offer a range of health and wellbeing incentives tailored to your location, including free gym memberships or an upgrade allowance to help you lead an active lifestyle without the financial stress.
In 2022 we agreed a 3-year global partnership with OffshoreWind4Kids, a programme designed to engage children across the world to learn about engineering, technology and renewables.
As a global partner, OffshoreWind4Kids has already been able to tap into our extensive global footprint, opening up future potential opportunities to deliver events and initiatives in key offshore wind markets in the UK, Europe, APAC and the USA.
We’ve already delivered +10 demonstration days at beaches across these regions as well as our First Lego League NL event where + 300 kids of between 9 to 15 years old learned about how to measure wind power generation by building wind turbines with a built-in display.
We are accelerating reforestation by planting 12,000 trees across Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Ecuador, Kenya, Madagascar, and Bhutan.
We are proud to offer each and every Taylor Hopkinson employee and contractor around the world a newly planted tree, creating the Brunel Foundation Forest. Once you receive your tree you can track its growth, including information about its species, its carbon sequestration, and the farmer who planted it.
We’ve partnered with Career Ready Scotland, a two-year programme that empowers young people in S5/S6 to kickstart their chosen career through a series of authentic, (and paid) workplace experiences and a network of support.
In the summer of 2023, we’ll be joined by two career-ready interns for four weeks, to work across our sales and support teams. By that time, they will have already benefited from a full year of 1-2-1 mentorship from our two volunteers, providing the tools and confidence they need to gain valuable hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
We are working on a range of initiatives with Street Soccer Scotland, a charity that uses football inspired training and personal development as a medium to empower people who are affected by social exclusion.
To date we’ve supported the annual gala dinner which raised over £200,000 and our volunteers are attending the ‘Woman Inspired’ event later this year. We’ve also planned a “sleep-out” event to raise further funds, along with other activities including CV writing support.
The Social Team are a bunch of cultural mavens passionate about having a good time – and sharing the best new entertainment, food and drink spots with the rest of the Taylor Hopkinson team. We organise social events, quarterly incentive days and cultural events and use our connections in the hospitality scene to plan unforgettable events that you won't get with any other employer.
Our regional Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committees ensure that every voice is heard and valued. We discuss key DIB topics, deliver ‘lunch & learns’, create content and blogs and manage a calendar of events to ensure that diversity, inclusion and belonging is at the heart of our DNA.
We want to hear from our colleagues about what matters most to them. Our Employee Engagement Team ensures that voices are heard as well as coordinating charity and fundraising initiatives and supporting our company-wide volunteering events.
