Taylor Hopkinson have been retained by a leading international business, an independent power producer with a dedication to the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets. With an already outstanding track record of growth globally, the client is now looking at future opportunities to expand and grow it's existing portfolio.

The Development Associate will play a key part in this ongoing development in supporting the origination, assessment and investment decisions for new projects in the European power sector by taking ownership of financial modelling, due diligence and analysis activities.

The key duties of the role are:

  • Preparation and management of financial models utilised in valuation, risk assessment, and cash flow evaluation. Review and test financial models developed by third parties
  • Coordination of due diligence activities including reviewing documentation, keeping up to date with industry information and the preparation of relevant questions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of investment memorandums and presentation of summaries in relation to information from internal and external sources
  • Develop concise recommendations from financial analysis
  • Reviewing market data and financial statements in order to identify acquisition targets
  • Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support project development and taking an involvement in special projects

The candidate:

  • Transaction related experience in investment banking, private equity or management consulting with a background in renewable energy
  • Qualified with a relevant university degree in Economics or Finance
  • Demonstrable knowledge of applied investment and valuation methodology
  • Experienced in valuing corporate and project-level acquisition opportunities
  • Proven ability to create and review detailed cash-flow and three-statement financial models
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations
