A Quality Engineer required to join a Leading Renewable Energy Developer, to be based in Edinburgh for an offshore wind farm project.  This is a long term contract.

Role

  • Support the QM collate QC records created during construction, installation and commissioning phases 
  • Work with QM, PM and Contractors to populate the QAFD for each package ensuing QC records have been reviewed and accepted
  • Support QM, PMs and Contractors to ensure Contractor ITP’s are reviewed prior to start of works, agreed with the NnG Team and are adhered to by the Contractor e.g. hold points, witness points, review points, etc. and any deviation is flagged to PM and QM
  • Work with Package teams to ensure Contractors provide look ahead schedules to allow project to plan ITP review/attendance
  • Support the QM and PMs manage inspection schedules e.g. manage attendance at FAT and SAT review and witnessing the manufacture and delivery of equipment and plant prior to installation (as appropriate working with agreed SMEs
  • Establish good working professional relationship with Contractor quality and design teams to ensure good engagement
  • Help coordinate the Contractor’s audit programme including coordinating the appointment of third party auditors
  • Support the development of the QAFD whereby contractor issued records are identified to a QAFD area (box) and allocated to the applicable QAFD register (includes working with DCs to allocate metadata in Aconex so record and QAFD are cross referenced)
  • Work with the QM and PkM to assess the quality of plant, equipment and materials and supporting QC records are provided
  • Prepare quality reports for QM and PMs on the performance of Contractors, results on internal audits and delivery of QC records against the agreed QAFD (including timing and delivery)
  • Support the QM and PMs review site quality issues and non-conformance including identification of root cause and the implementation of corrective and preventative action to eliminate recurrence
  • Work with QM and PkMs to develop processes that ensure Package site activities (e.g. fabrication) validated the design (including review site drawings for revision control and compliance)
  • When working on site help identify and document any non-conformance and or defects ensuring they are suitably segregated stored and monitored for closure by the Contractor in project registers as applicable – escalate to Package & Quality Manager

Requirements

  • Methodical approach to record management
  • MS Excel and MS Word proficient
  • Quality Management of equipment and systems  
  • Engineering / technical knowledge of Wind farms
  • Lead Auditor
