Taylor Hopkinson have been retained by a leading international business, an independent power producer with a dedication to the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets. With an already outstanding track record of growth globally, the client is now looking at future opportunities to expand and grow it's existing portfolio. A Technical Development Specialist is required to join their team in London as part of this growth plan

The role:

  • Identify new project opportunities in the renewable energy sector
  • Assisting with due diligence process on new project opportunities
  • Supporting development activities across EPC Contractor selection, contract negotiation and project financing activity
  • Working with the development team to assist in development and assessment of capital operating costs
  • Coordination of project work with internal and external project engineering stakeholders
  • Permitting coordination for environmental, health and safety
  • Understanding regulatory and policy issues related to business and specific projects and jurisdictions including the tracking of relevant sector developments within Europe
  • Keep abreast of developments in new technologies and methods in power plant design and construction
  • Stakeholder and community engagement activities
  • Contract negotiation with 3rd party contractors/suppliers

The candidate:

  • Degree qualified within a relevant Engineering field
  • Experience gained in an engineering/technical development role within large scale renewable energy developments
  • A clear understanding of clean energy generation. the related economics, regulations, resource quality, off-taker strategies and PPAs, EPC and project financing
  • Demonstrable knowledge of quantitative and qualitative components of renewable energy projects, within ability to support with the evaluation of opportunities in line with investment objectives
  • Track record in contract management and negotiation with understanding of the related language
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory permit compliance, regulatory restrictions in relation to the renewable energy industry
