We have been appointed by a major joint venture backed investor in London to recruit an analyst into their global investments team to focus predominantly on high-yield investments within Offshore Wind.

Reporting to a Senior Manager in the Investments Team, the candidate will be responsible for market research and supporting the due diligence and financial investment decisions for new investments in the offshore wind sector. The role will have market analysis, financial analysis, market research, presentation skills and financial modelling as core skill sets.

Responsibilities:

  • Market research and business development of potential new offshore wind markets
  • Review market data and financial statements to help identify possible acquisition targets and prepare models to value possible acquisition benefits
  • Lead discrete aspects of due diligence, coordinating with internal and external resources
  • Greenfield OSW bid preparation support
  • Assist in the writing of investment memorandums and preparing presentations summarising key findings from internal and external sources
  • Assist in the growth of the London investment team by taking initiative for a variety of internal tasks.
  • Liaise and communicate with corporate departments in support of project development
  • Responsible for building and managing in-house project-level financial models (from a vendor model) for valuation, risk assessment, and cash flow evaluation purposes
  • Accountable for translating financial analysis into concise recommendations
  • Liaise and communicate with corporate departments in support of project development
  • Support various corporate strategy memorandums, reporting and administrative requirements as required

Education & Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience of investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or other transaction-related experience, preferably with a background in power and renewables
  • Experience in due diligence, transactions and valuing corporate or project-level acquisition opportunities
  • Understanding of applied investment and valuation methodologies
  • Financial modelling capability
  • Strong technical/computer skills
  • Business undergraduate degree in (Economics or Finance) or related field preferred
  • A second European language would be favourable
