Offshore Wind

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SVP in originating offshore wind opportunities in Northern Europe through Joint Venture, M&A & Tenders/Auctions
  • Lead process and be involved and support the drafting and negotiation of JV term sheets, Shareholders Agreements and/or Development Services Agreements with development partners, as supported by internal colleagues and external lawyers
  • In the case of M&A initiatives, work with the M&A Manager and be involved in transaction process management, sourcing of external consultants and lawyers, lead the Due Diligence and evaluation process, lead/support the internal communication flow.
  • Oversees regulatory watch of target markets and implement market and project development strategies
  • Liaise with Investment team on business case and auction model development by providing various inputs (Project, schedule, devex, capex, opex, tax and other operational parameters) for cashflow modelling and financial analysis for investment opportunities
  • Work alongside Business Development team colleagues, including shareholder representatives on all opportunities; including in the development of project models, risk analysis, development plans and investment approvals
  • Support and drive competitor analysis in the context of project development and tenders
  • From time to time explore adjacent technologies alongside offshore wind projects e.g. green hydrogen & p2x etc
  • Develop and maintain network of relevant stakeholder, potential partners, finance parties and other relevant parties.
  • Provide strategic input to business planning
  • Report to Senior Management and Board on status of opportunities on an as required basis

Key Requirements

  • 7 - 15 years' experience in offshore wind business Development/new markets
  • Floating wind experience a plus
  • Proven track record in forming partnerships/consortiums for offshore wind opportunities
  • Demonstrable experience in M&A processes
  • Good network of relationships in industry and amongst key stakeholders
  • Strong relationship and people skills
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and delivery of growth initiatives
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Previous management experience of junior members desirable
  • 2nd language is a plus
  • Strong team player
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and flexible style to adjust to fluctuating work demands
  • Committed resourceful and a self-starter
