Cable Supply Manager

Opportunity for a Cable Supply Manager to work on a 2-year ongoing contract with a major offshore wind developer based in Europe

Role

You will be a Cable Expert for Medium and High Voltage Land and Submarine Cable acting as project expert for all medium and high voltage cable supply for land & submarine cable incl. relevant accessories such as Connectors, Offshore Repair Joints, DTS or other CMS, etc.

• Coordination of all work package-specific tasks and interfaces. Collaboration with other work packages and departments (procurement, operations, logistics, etc.) and key stakeholders (partners, regulators)
• Support of the award negotiations from a technical point of view
• Review and comment on the design, documentation and make design decisions and recommendations
• Identifying and mitigating technical risks and ensuring that the design enables safe and efficient manufacture, installation, commissioning, testing and operation
• Responsible for conducting technical audits and inspections of potential cable manufactory sites and during the cable manufacturing process
• Providing technical support to the Cable Installation Package
• Management of subcontractors and, if required, additional experts in the package
• Ensuring that services are performed in accordance with the contract with regard to scope of delivery, deadlines, costs, quality, risks and occupational safety
• Interface to internal and external project participants
• Monitoring of compliance with developer defined HSSE framework conditions
• Participation in and management of construction meetings
• Participation in the creation and implementation of the commissioning strategy
• Reporting to Electrical Package Manager

Key Experience

• > 7 years of experience of on- and offshore cable design/production/transport/(installation)
• Deep knowledge of submarine cable standards such as IEC, CIGRE, VDE, ICEA
• Very good knowledge of the current state of the art and technical development in the relevant field of activity
• University degree in the relevant field of activity
• Business fluent use of English language in spoken and written form, German and Polish would also be an advantage
• Experience in on- or/and offshore cable installation would be beneficial
