Commissioning Manager required for major Offshore Wind Farm developer based in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full electrical scope including installation, quality and commissioning of LV, MV & HV equipment.
  • Support and coordinate the site-based activities relating to Mechanical handling, protection and SCADA roles within the overall EI&C schedule
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with main suppliers and sub-contractors. Prioritise work scopes as necessary.
  • Lead and participate in commissioning meetings including but not limited to, commissioning panel meetings, individual scope meetings, internal commissioning team meetings & contractor monthly meetings.
  • Ensure that quality of installation & commissioning is in line with agreed standards and project requirements including the Employers Technical Standards.
  • To ensure the on time and complete commissioning of the onshore substation ready for handover to operations and maintenance team.
  • Manage overall commissioning time schedule, including key milestones by liaising with planner to update the P6 program.
  • Report commissioning activities to the project team, site management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Commissioning activities with NGET/TSO company, Wind Farm Commissioning Project Manager & SAP team.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of US substations.
  • Knowledge of installation and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Able to manage a team of supervisors.
  • Able to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
  • Five years of relevant project experience required.
  • Good project and stakeholder management skills, coordination skills and a talent for driving solutions to achieve outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commissioning experience within the field of MV/HV equipment, SCADA, Protection, low voltage and utility installations and components.
  • Experience with onshore substations work.
  • Should be degree qualified in a relevant Electrical Engineering subject.
