Global leader in renewable energy seeking a Document Control Manager to lead DC management across their rapidly growing offshore wind business.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Boston, MA.
Role
- This role exists to provide overview and strategic direction for the U.S.A's Offshore's growing Document Management requirement, to further build business competence in the field.
- In addition, the role has responsibility for identifying, recording and implementing standardized best practice solutions and processes to be implemented across all US Offshore projects. This will be in conjunction with the Global procedures and protocols.
- The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Document Control team is fully capable of supporting projects in Offshore Wind's U.S. growth strategy - ensuring the optimum level of competence, and the most efficient tools and processes are in place for successful project delivery.
- The Document Control Manager will take on the responsibility of task management for any US Offshore Document
- The function requires establishment within the region and thus there is the potential for the US team to grow in line with project awards.
- The role holder will be accountable for resource availability to ensure customer demand is met across all US Offshore projects.
- The Document Control Manager is accountable for all project documentation, ensuring an auditable, traceable and reliable Document Management environment for all US Offshore projects in development, construction and the supporting functions for O&M requirements.
- The role holder will be accountable for the application and localized maintenance of the Document Control procedures and requirements, the continual development of the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and to ensure the systems' continual relevance and efficacy on global Offshore projects.
- The role holder is accountable for the provision and receipt of data and communications to/from contractors and for the reporting of progress to project directors.
- The job holder will be responsible for directing all Document Management actions and the function as a whole, which has direct influence on multiple project budgets, time and quality requirements in order that the key shareholders and stakeholders expectations are met.
- The role is critical to the efficient and effective running of multiple projects.
Requirements:
- An exceptional understanding of Document Management processes and practices Procedural awareness and development for all stages of projects - history of procedural authoring and procedural implementation across projects.
- Previous experience leading teams on large multidiscipline engineering projects within a Document Control function.
- Experience of using several EDMS systems.
- Strong general computing skills especially MS office, including Outlook; Word; Excel; PowerPoint and Access & MS SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of relation databases and File Transfer Protocol mediums.
- Competent, responsible, innovative and motivational.
- Flexible, assertive, proactive and service minded.
- A team leader with proven experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Presentation skills and experience in training on EDMS systems
- Advocate of Document Management processes and their propagation, promoting their benefit to key personnel.
- Ability to determine new technical implementations for Document Control and finding solutions to project specific challenges.
- Capable of maintaining positive working relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work across differing projects and work streams simultaneously.
- Significant experience in a Document Control Manager or Lead Document Controller role.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction documentation lifecycles and workflows.
- Significant experience in contractual development (specific to Document Management) and third-party review and interaction.
- Significant experience in developing client requirements for documentation submittals Comfortable with Document Management reporting.
- The ability to set up Document Management for projects and solve project specific documentation challenges.
- To lead the Document Management protocols for a variety of projects and workstreams simultaneously and advise related on processes.
