Opportunity for a Finance and Treasury Associate to join the team of a leading offshore wind developer in Scotland. The role will work with the Project Finance Manager as part of the finance team to manage Project Finance Documents with the banks and provide day to day treasury services, working closely with the accounting and project controls teams.

The role will also provide a key link between offshore wind projects and the banks and sponsors, building a strong relationship with both sets of stakeholders to help facilitate the flow of information and project decision making processes.

This is a full-time staff role base in Edinburgh.

Role:

  • Maintain the Finance Documents and the relationships with the lending banks (both Senior Debt and Equity Bridge Loan), sponsors (Shareholder Loan) and hedging banks ensuring projects meet all obligations under the Finance Documents (approximately 3,000 pages in total).
  • The obligations include, but are not limited to, financing costs payment, reporting, negative/positive/information undertakings.
  • Full understanding of the Finance Documents and Project (not only finance aspect) is required, as well as frequent communication with all project staff and stakeholders in order to manage the Finance Documents.
  • Working with the Accounting and Project Controls teams, manage day-to-day treasury work including, but not limited to, the project cash management, drawdown from banks and sponsors (Senior Debt, Equity Bridge Loan, Shareholders Loan), hedge transactions and financing costs calculation (interest payment, commitment fees, agent fees, LC fees, hedging settlements, etc.) ensuring all numbers are accurate and paid or received on time.
  • In addition to fully understanding the Finance Documents and wider Project, work highly accurately to make sure that every single detail is correct.
  • The finance team will be the first point of contact with all of the banks and sponsors who provide debt and equity to the project therefore will be required to communicate with the lenders' technical advisor and legal advisor.
  • Frequent communication with the agent banks to manage the Finance Documents.
  • Attendance at Economics and Finance Committees, updating shareholders on project progress, issues and upcoming decisions.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and communicating in a professional way to help facilitate the flow of information and project decision making processes.
  • Support the work of the Finance Team in all other aspects of the financing associated with the relevant project.

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant equivalent in Finance or related subject.
  • Working knowledge of the renewable energy industry and associated infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of non-resource project finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills (SUM, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT, COUNT, COUNTIF, ROUND, ROUNDUP, ROUNDOWN, DATE, DAY, EDATE, EMONTH, WORKDAY, NETWORKDAY, YEARFRAC, HLOOKUP, LOOKUP, VLOOKUP, IF, OR, TRUE, FALSE, INDEXMATCH, MATCH).
  • Excellent organisation and reporting skills.
  • Be results oriented.
  • Be able to work with high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
