Job Summary:
The Head of Hydrogen is a leadership role responsible for driving the growth and development of the company's hydrogen portfolio, with a particular emphasis on onshore activities. This role requires a unique blend of expertise in mergers & acquisitions and engineering to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities within the hydrogen sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the hydrogen industry, business acumen, and engineering proficiency to shape and execute the company's hydrogen strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
- Identify potential M&A targets and partnership opportunities in the hydrogen sector.
- Lead due diligence processes, including financial, technical, and legal evaluations of potential targets.
- Develop and execute M&A strategies to expand the company's presence in the hydrogen market.
- Negotiate and structure M&A transactions to maximize value and align with the company's strategic goals.
- Engineering and Onshore Operations:
- Oversee the engineering and project management aspects of onshore hydrogen facilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, optimize, and implement onshore hydrogen production, storage, and distribution systems.
- Ensure that all onshore projects meet safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on the design and construction of onshore hydrogen infrastructure.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the company's hydrogen initiatives, with a strong onshore focus.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to stay ahead of the curve in the hydrogen sector.
- Work closely with senior executives to align hydrogen strategies with overall corporate goals.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage a team of professionals responsible for mergers & acquisitions, engineering, and onshore operations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for hydrogen projects and M&A activities.
- Monitor project financial performance and ensure cost-effective and efficient project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in mergers & acquisitions within the energy or hydrogen sector.
- Strong technical background in hydrogen production, storage, and distribution engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of onshore hydrogen infrastructure and project management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to drive innovation and sustainable growth.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
