We're currently recruiting for our client, the Global Renewable Energy Developer and IPP that has comprehensive portfolio across Solar Energy, Utility-Scale Battery-based Energy Storage Systems, Onshore Wind, and Offshore Wind in APAC region. With extensive onshore/offshore project development experience in the development, construction, operation, and maintenance, they have established themselves as the leading renewable energy IPP company in Taiwan that has a proven track record across the life cycle of the renewable energy projects.
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Head of Onshore Development, to oversee all the project/business development activities for solar, onshore wind, and energy storage projects. This role will play a key role in contributing to managing, developing, and supporting broader project development within the company.
*This senior leadership position requires experience in large-scale onshore projects development, such as solar, onshore wind, and energy storage, rotated in mid-level management level, and fluent Mandarin Chinese/English proficiency.*

Job Scope:
The position will lead the onshore team to drive business development for solar, onshore wind, and energy storage projects. The role involves managing the full project lifecycle from project development, permit acquisition, and construction to commissioning. The position requires strong business development skills to identify new project opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and manage project budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to foster new and existing relationships for development.
- Present solar/onshore wind/energy storage proposals, financial benefit summaries, and various deal structures to the investment committee.
- Lead the development and execution of business development strategies to drive growth in the solar, onshore wind, and energy storage markets.
- Manage the team to achieve project development goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project developers, utilities, regulators, and government agencies.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with the execution team (PM/CM) and make sure the project can meet the COD timeline.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements for project development and operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and risk management strategies.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure project success.
- Develop and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project development processes.
- Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and develop mitigation plans.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team in achieving project milestones and goals.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation within the team and across the organization.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role it is envisaged that you will have the following skills and experience:
- Onshore project development, Business Development, and Commercial experience in the Solar, Onshore Wind, and Energy Storage sectors with over 15 years of working experience.
- Extensive project experience on technically complex and high-valued solar, BESS, or other HV Power Systems energy projects.
- Experienced in the mid-level manager position, in project development, business development, and/or commercial-related positions in the onshore renewable energy industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to work on complex projects and lead multi-disciplinary and diverse teams.
- Proactive person, team player, good attitude and positivism, and problem solver.
- Good organizational skills and a structured working approach with an eye for detail as well as the ability to keep an extensive overview.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
- This role is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
