Taylor Hopkinson is retained to appoint a Head of UK Regulatory Affairs for one of the world's leading energy businesses.

The Head of Regulatory Affairs will be the expert point of contact for all regulatory activities and the government relations agenda for their portfolio of UK offshore wind, hydrogen and CCUS projects. You will bring your extensive technical knowledge and expertise to identify and manage political risks and opportunities, develop relationships with government bodies, and help to implement lobbying and advocacy strategies to support the business objectives.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the UK (location flexible).

Role

  • Review and assess trends and developments in policy, regulatory affairs and stakeholder aspects, creating and implementing effective lobbying plans.
  • Assist in business development, origination, and project development from a regulatory affairs perspective.
  • Liaise and lobby industry stakeholders, reviewing and marketing joint industry efforts which support the development of the offshore wind, hydrogen and CCUS industries, in agreement with company goals and strategy.
  • Support the strategy to acquire seabed leases, market routes and the required consents/licenses needed for offshore wind projects.

Requirements

  • Degree educated or above, or professional qualification, in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong network at national and regional level and able to use this network to shape offshore renewables and integrated energy policy formation.
  • Contemporary knowledge of, and ongoing involvement in, regulatory affairs which impact offshore wind, hydrogen, CCUS and integrated energy systems.
  • Strategically minded with the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of responsibilities and activities from a commercial perspective.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders within policy formation.
  • Ability to cover a wide scope of activities and priorities, with a strategic mindset and a goal-oriented approach.
  • Confident communicator to a range of audiences, comfortable managing a team of professionals and strong people coordination skills.
