aylor Hopkinson is seeking a HSE Manager for Spain, based in Madrid, to join one of the world's leading Renewable Energy IPPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive HSE processes and programs
  • Constantly promote HSE process from all levels of management and front-line

  • Maintain strong, effective communication EPC and O&M contractors, management teams and global HSE leadership

  • Coordinate the activities of site based HSE Officer

  • Carry out regular on-site HSE inspections and audits at the construction sites, operating solar plants, and offices

  • Create and monitor HSE legal and regulatory programs for the offices and the sites

  • Identify training needs and conduct HSE training at all levels (management roles and font-line employees)

  • Conduct regular site HSE reviews

  • Actively participate in HSE design risk and procedures reviews to be applied in the contracts, pre-mobilization workshops, pre-commissioning workshops, post-construction reviews, and O&M turnover workshops with relevant stakeholders to drive inherently safe design

  • Ensure compliance to construction, maintenance, and electrical safety, Spanish HSE regulations, standards, laws, permits, waste management and hazardous material management

  • Monitor and review tier-one contractor and subcontractor activities for safety concerns and deficiencies

  • Assist in the case management and investigation of work-related HSE incidents

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of staff, including working in conjunction with the Corporate HSE&C team

  • Ability to travel to jobsites frequently and with short notice if necessary

  • Ensure full and qualified compliance to environmental plans with the companies involved in the construction and operation phases in order to obtain and renew project operating licenses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree related to HSE or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English

  • Availability to travel 20-50% of the time

  • Relevant experience as a dedicated HSE professional managing HSE programs, conducting site audits and providing safety training preferably within a utilities grade renewable energy company

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001

  • Previous experience in the renewable energy sector
