The Health, Safety, Environmental and Social (HSES) System and Tools Advisor will hold primary responsibility to manage all health, safety, environmental and social compliance aspects of a global offshore wind developer and its related business activities.

This is a permanent role based in London.

Role:

  • Support the Global Head of HSES Governance in ensuring the highest possible standards of HSES are developed and maintained.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across the business regions (Europe, Asia Pacific and Americas) to support HSES compliance, audit effectiveness, HSES reporting, standards, processes and tools.
  • Drive the HSES data collection from systems and stakeholders, undertake analysis and provide key insights on key areas such as HSES reporting and performance, general HSES compliance and management commitment and review.
  • Maintain the HSES Management System (plans/procedures/templates etc) to support corporate activities, project delivery, reporting & audit requirements including ensuring compliance with controls.
  • Maintain controlled documents in accordance with HSE Management System requirements.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge sharing with the broader HSE function and operational leaders to ensure effective adoption, application and implementation of the HSEQ Management System.
  • Drive an effective change management approach and ensure that successful change outcomes are achieved in accordance with the business strategy and plans.
  • Ensure communication and consultation standards are achieved and maintain accurate stakeholder engagement records.
  • Support the organisational level system, and monitor and review compliance activities.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the management system development, targets and other key performance indicators.
  • Support the development, delivery, and implementation of HSE programmes and communication campaigns as required to meet HSE Strategy and Plans.
  • Support organisational change by integrating HSE initiatives into all relevant activities to achieve a positive safety culture and applicable HSE objectives and targets.
  • Support organisational capability by educating others around own knowledge and expertise.
  • Provide support in respect of any third-party reviews undertaken, including by external auditors, representatives of shareholders etc.
  • Hold responsibility for the electronic HSES management tool(s).
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of HSES reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annually).
  • Support the development of HSE reports, information, data, analytics and insights to allow monitoring and reporting on the implementation and effectiveness of key internal controls, risk management and governance processes within the business.
  • Deliver periodic HSES updates, training and awareness sessions to the team in respect to lessons learned, process updates and management system topics relevant to the business and electronic system.
  • Strive for best practice and high standards of HSES management and compliance.
  • Ensure adequate and regular communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable practical experience in a HSE role with a significant focus on HSE management systems requirements.
  • Experience in dealing with issues and restraints faced by line managers and business teams in implementing HSE processes and programs.
  • Experience in the development and improvement of HSE management systems to ISO14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of HSE training requirements and qualifications frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels
  • Willingness to travel to business offices, project locations and other stakeholder(s) locations
  • Ambitious, motivated and have the drive to succeed with a team player attitude.
