Our client is a leading renewable energy developer who are looking for a Project Manager to plan, manage and deliver a floating windfarm project, coordinating activities across all disciplines, internal and external. This is a freelance contract based in Busan, South Korea.

Role

  • Delivery of project objectives and milestones on time and on budget
  • Project management across all work-streams and disciplines in line with project milestones and objectives
  • Project delivery planning and implementation
  • Manage and monitor progress against a defined schedule and budget and regularly report against progress
  • Liaise with cross function teams to facilitate decisions and resolve/mitigate project risks and issues
  • Interfacing externally and relationship management, with industrial partners and government officials
  • Coordination of project activities including input from multiple sources and disciplines
  • Written and verbal communication of technical detail to a non-technical audience
  • Promotion of the project with a range of stakeholders
  • Regular point of contact and local focal point in the project’s head office in Busan
  • Prepare/lead/review of tender documents, bids evaluation, contractual negotiation and contract technical documents
  • Interface with and motivate project team members from multiple disciplines and countries
  • Contribute to project management process improvements and delivery processes
  • Achievement of consistency across the project from a technical, commercial and contractual perspective

Requirements

  • Significant project management experience with a proven track record of delivery of large-scale offshore engineering projects
  • Good understanding of the offshore wind industry
  • Experience on offshore wind projects
  • Expert in working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation associated with construction projects
  • Understanding of engineering principles
  • Capable of supervisory capacity for planning, organising, communicating and personnel management skills
  • Experience in financial accountability and reporting
  • Proven track record in delivering to schedule
  • Personality for stakeholder engagement including charisma and ability to engage with non-technical audiences
  • Experience of living or working in Korea preferable
