Opportunity for an experienced power & energy professional to take on a Director-level position within a global renewable energy and energy efficiency investment management & advisory firm.

The Investment Director USA will take a lead role in developing, structuring, and executing investments into multi-million dollar energy efficiency, decentralised energy generation and waste to energy projects and portfolios throughout the country and internationally.

With a director reporting line to the Managing Director USA, the position is based in the company's flagship Manhattan, NYC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing new opportunities alongside investment policy and strategy
  • Work directly with various clients, suppliers, delivery partners, legal, and accounting professionals to develop new transactions
  • Develop presentations, business cases, and additional materials for prospective project clients
  • Negotiate and execute term sheets
  • Manage due diligence and deal execution
  • Writing and presenting IC papers
  • Take responsibility for portfolio valuations and investor reporting
  • Work alongside colleagues from Asset Management to ensure the resolution of any technical and commercial challenges during project construction and throughout the operational life cycle, with a focus on optimising investment returns
  • Partner with the US Managing Director to identify and develop new investment opportunities and strategic partnerships across key markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key strategic partners, contractors, and project developers
  • Act as a company ambassador, attending and speaking at relevant industry events and conferences
  • Partner effectively with colleagues in Europe

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' relevant investment experience in power, renewable energy and/or infrastructure industries
  • Technical/Engineering/Finance degree educated; additional study (e.g. MBA) desirable
  • Highly skilled in deal structuring
  • Renewable energy and/or energy efficiency market knowledge essential
  • Advanced understanding of low-carbon and renewable resource business models, markets, life cycles and technologies
  • Detail orientated and collaborative approach
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience mentoring junior investment professionals desirable
