Taylor Hopkinson has been retained by a newly formed joint venture focused on offshore wind with a mandate to grow their existing portfolio by identifying opportunities in Europe. As part of the team you will lead in powering the energy transition through development, construction, operation, and ownership of renewable energy generation and green infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and support on business development activities and project initiatives including negotiation strategy and delivery
  • Responsible for management of the commercial development and contractual delivery of offshore wind projects.
  • Lead/advise on the negotiation of Non Disclosure Agreements, Head of Terms, Sale and Purchase Agreements, Joint Venture Agreement, Joint Bidding Agreement, Shareholder Agreements & Financing agreements relating to offshore wind projects
  • Work closely with business development teams across Europe collaborating on key projects
  • Regular liaison on project initiatives with CFO and legal team
  • Act as main point of contact for contract negotiations liaising with external advisors and internal stakeholders, including shareholder representatives in the UK and Nordics
  • Prepare and/or input into reports of progress on projects and development activities.
  • Ensure that risks are proactively identified and appropriately managed with a risk and opportunity register maintained, regular risk reviews held.
  • Monitor market trends to determine risks, opportunities and changes to the development portfolio of projects.
  • Report to Senior Management and Board as required

Required Experience

  • Significant experience from similar commercial role within investment/development environment with a background in renewable energy
  • Direct offshore wind project experience would be a strong benefit
  • Business undergraduate degree (ideally finance/legal)
  • Ability to quickly identify key value drivers in a project
  • Broad understanding of legal processes relating to project acquisitions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with diverse internal and external stakeholders and counterparties.
  • Detailed experience of key investment documentation (SPA, SHA etc).
  • Understanding of project financing would be a distinct advantage
