Partner with business leadership to manage branding, product and/or services promotion, and partner with the business to provide functional expertise. Drive customer communications program success in the areas of PR and digital communications. Has good knowledge of best practices and how the area of communications area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the CCO and CEO, leverages the key business priorities to create communication strategies that move the needle for the Company.
  • Develops external communication plans to execute multi-channel communications programs that further the Company's brand development and positioning across multiple stakeholder groups, including customers, business leaders, media, industry group and governments. Responsible for ensuring that the image and reputation of the Company is represented positively, protects the brand across all communication channels.
  • Proactively drives an earned media strategy focusing on trade publications and tier 1 media (where relevant) to position the Company as an innovator striving for a net-zero grid.
  • Builds and executes thought leadership strategies for key leaders of the executive teams (eg. LinkedIn articles, speaking engagements, etc.)
  • Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to refine, improve and outline the communication plans.
  • Leverages data to enhance and improve strategy and tactics, regularly reports on progress
  • Coordinates and directs all communication resources for the Company.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field and minimum 4-6 years' communications experience covering corporate communications, PR, journalism or marketing communications
  • A track record of influencing and engaging successfully with internal and external stakeholders (thought leaders, key opinion leaders, influencers, press, governments) in a highly regulated and technical environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with ability to simplify complex issues and act quickly with sensitivity to a range of external perspectives
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the business drivers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Clear interest in and understanding of current affairs, politics and public opinion and the ability to gauge the effects of these on present and future business plans

Desired Characteristics

  • An MBA or relevant post graduate qualifications would be highly regarded.
  • Prior (communications) experience in the power sector
  • Additional languages would be considered a plus
