Taylor Hopkinson have been exclusively retained by one of the world's leading renewable energy utilities, in its search for an Executive Vice President (EVP), Solar & Storage, North America.

The EVP, Solar & Storage, will take on holistic responsibility for the North American SaS business unit, leading origination & development through construction and operation activities, reporting directly to a member of the Global Management Board.

This role can be worked from one of the company's US offices.


  • Lead all North American Solar & Storage activities for a multi-GW portfolio, from origination and development through construction and into operation
  • Translate strategic growth targets for project origination and development into reality, steering the North American Solar & Storage pipeline and team behind it
  • Safely guide the delivery of a large, utility-scale construction portfolio, to cost, time, and quality standards
  • Define strategy and pipeline targets to reach ambitious growth aspirations for project development, managing pipeline to development cost, attrition, progression, and competitiveness of projects
  • Work with various North American stakeholders and functions to achieve growth targets (legal, finance, PPA/commercial, M&A, procurement, etc.)
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the North American business
  • Foster a strong performance culture and passionate team of hardworking professionals
  • Optimise operational portfolio performance and optimisation activities, ensuring the effective implementation of agreed AM strategies and plans
  • Manage the delivery of quality investment proposals for approval at final investment decision to the Board of the company and Group
  • Drive the development and growth of team personnel, motivating, coaching, mentoring and training members across the business
  • Represent the business at Solar & Storage Industry Trade Organisations and events
  • Engage with and establish lasting relationships with an array of external stakeholders and partners


  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to foster culture of high performance
  • Strong track record in solar project/pipeline growth and delivery at US and/or North American level
  • Track record of executing large-scale portfolios of solar & storage construction projects
  • Demonstrable expertise and solid networks across the North American Solar & Storage markets
  • Strong operations know-how and continuous improvement mindset
  • Clear success in leading diverse, multinational teams at a senior/executive management level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent leader of people
  • Excellent commercial business acumen
  • Highly innovative and entrepreneurial in thought, with a high energy and positive, 'can-do' attitude
