Project Developer, Onshore Renewables

An opportunity for an experienced Renewables Project Developer to join an international Renewable Energy Producer specialising in renewable investments and development in Europe.

You will be ensuring the full development life-cycle from site identification through feasibility studies to "ready to build" status.

The position is based in Rome, Italy.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and securing the land plots needed for the implementation of the project
• Managing the full development process from site identification to financial close, including:
• Project feasibility and evaluate according to the Company criteria
• Supporting Italian technical department in drafting and evaluating preliminary layouts
• Assessing the environmental and technical restrictions potentially affecting lands according to the Italian regulation/Law
• Developing and maintaining excellent relations with local stakeholders, including landowners, mayors, authorities, and neighbours
• Coordinating technical activities with the local and group-wide experts
• Identifying and securing the land plots needed for the implementation of the project
• Securing the most economical MV/HV grid connection and manage the application procedure for obtaining grid capacity with local DNO/TSO
• Dealing with the environmental aspects of the projects and suggest solutions to reduce impacts of the projects by maximising acceptance of the communities and Authorities
• Leading and managing the permitting process of PV/Wind projects in the Country
• Communicating with the authorities, landowners and partners
• Developing the projects considering the quantitative and qualitative goals, applying a commercial mind-set
• Reporting periodically to the Country Manager and the Holding team in accordance with the Company Policy.
• Applying the Company quality control procedures, with a strong focus on HSES policy

Requirements:

• Engineering background
• Experience in developing solar/wind projects in Italy
• Negotiation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in Italian and English
