Project Director – BESS Development

Taylor Hopkinson has been retained on a search for a Project Director to lead a portfolio of BESS projects through development to construction for a major fund in the renewable investment industry.

The Project Director will be responsible for supporting Final Investment Decision in large scale BESS projects throughout the UK.

The Role:

• Align project with investment goals, exceeding objectives.
• Structure work streams for profitable renewable investment.
• Assign leads, manage delivery, and allocate resources.
• Present robust plans and support Final Investment Decision in BESS projects
• Procure third party support aligned with investment objectives.
• Maintain alignment with internal and external teams, manage risks.
• Communicate transparently with management and stakeholders.
• Efficiently structure projects, manage risks, and develop key aspects.
• Support project financing, empower teams for procurement.
• Report project health and progress to stakeholders.
• Define scope, negotiate contracts, ensure organisational readiness.
• Assist in investor material preparation and transaction closing.
• Appointment of experience Construction Management organisation
• Support handover, assist construction through completion

Requirements:

• Proven track record of successful development and construction of BESS Projects
• Experience in presenting investment cases and FID in relation to utility scale BESS projects
• Masters/Bachelors in economics, science, engineering or other relevant degree
• Experience in handling senior and junior stakeholders
