Highly prominent global infrastructure investor are seeking a Project Finance Director to lead the finance function for an offshore wind development project in Taiwan.
With the continued growth of offshore wind in Taiwan, the client see huge opportunities in the area and as such are keen to attract a high calibre finance professional to lead the financial affairs associated with their latest investment.
As Finance Director, you will work closely with the project team, project shareholders, lenders and advisers to ensure successful delivery of the project. You will be responsible for managing a small team consisting of employees, contractors and other partners.
You will be an integral part of the project management team, reporting to the Project Director. and will take ownership of all project financing activities, including but not limited to loan documents, lender relationships and cash management. You will need to work closely together with technical and commercial teams to ensure that decisions made are bankable. You will manage relationships with the lending group and lenders' advisors, ensuring that shareholder and loan agreements are well understood and that the project complies with applicable covenants at all times. You will also manage foreign currency and interest rate hedges.
Furthermore, in terms of project controls and reporting, you will be responsible for governance, approvals and management of the project controls functions. You will ensure that robust cost, change and risk management controls are in place and implemented within the project. You will be responsible for project reporting and ensuring high-quality reports are in place. You will report project progress and present decision proposals to the steering committee and the project board together with the Project Director and the EPC Director, whilst at the same time ensuring that lenders are appropriately informed and consulted with. You will ensure that financial models and budgets are kept up to date with the latest assumptions and manage cashflow within the project. Indeed, one of your key responsibilities is to ensure that commercial and financial considerations are taken into account in all decision making.
You will have a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or similar field (an MBA degree will be preferred) and have a minimum of ten years' experience in leading finance functions, ideally in project finance and offshore wind construction environment. You will also have an in-depth understanding of project finance, joint venture arrangements and construction projects and have excellent financial modelling, accounting and project management skills. You will also possess strong quantitative and analytical skills and enjoy developing and nurturing relationships across all levels. Lastly, you must be fluent in English and while not essential, written and spoken Mandarin skills will also be desired.
