Risk Engineer required for a leading Offshore Wind Farm developer, based in the USA

Responsibilities

  • Understand the key drivers and values of the JV and project, develop pertinent knowledge of the technical, commercial and development specifics of offshore wind and Company portfolio to support risk management.
  • Develop and continuously update the portfolio and project risk registers by facilitating risks workshops with Leads and other stakeholders, including identification, categorization, analysis, qualification and quantification of all inherent risks that can affect the portfolio or the project.
  • Perform a prioritization of risks based on qualitative and/or quantitative assessment.
  • Maintain, challenge and track the mitigation plans.
  • Secure risk ownership amongst risk owners (training, risk awareness, etc.).
  • Manage peer-reviews and assurance of risks and opportunities.
  • Report on risks and opportunities and mitigation progress as required, with a focus on current hotspots.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools on a monthly and quarterly basis, plus perform ad-hoc analyses on target risks to support management decisions.
  • Perform impact assessments, including qualitative risk and opportunity assessments supporting decision tree analyses for 'standard' business decisions in collaboration with Leads.
  • Perform full qualitative and quantitative assessment (Cost Schedule & Risk Analysis, Monte Carlo simulations) of risks and opportunities to support decision gates and contingency definition, including close collaboration with Planner and Cost Estimation Lead for schedule and cost risk assessment.
  • Interpret and explain the Cost Schedule & Risk Analysis (CSRA) output including recommendations to manage risks.
  • Develop presentation material to explain the results and key cost and schedule risk areas to management and peer-review teams.
  • Ensure JV policies, including record keeping and documentation management, are followed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Risk Lead, Project Services Manager or Management.
  • Implement solutions that educate and encourage internal and external stakeholders to become more collaborative and contribute to the project value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant work experience with capital projects ($250+ million value).
  • Experience in risk identification, risk mitigation and quantitative risk modelling for inclusion into economic analyses.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience in onshore wind and/or offshore industry.
  • Additional project services experience a significant competitive advantage (Cost Engineering, Planning, Cost Control, etc.).
