Taylor Hopkinson is supporting a major offshore wind developer to appoint a Senior Health and Safety Specialist to work across a portfolio of offshore wind projects and provide independent, expert and professional support whilst giving advice and guidelines to site management on all health and safety related issues. The role will actively participate in and promoting a high standard of health, safety and environmental awareness and culture across all sites.

The role will be employed in the Health and Safety Offshore department but working at site, coordinating the work with the site management.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Sweden or Denmark.

Role:

  • Further implement the Health & Safety management system within the offshore generation sites and contribute to updating existing site/s and regional specific processes, procedures and instructions according to requirements from site/s and region.
  • Drive a culture of using and maintaining relevant processes, procedures and instructions.
  • Drive and report upon the Health and Safety Performance, including incident management, and maturity within the generation site organisation.
  • Support the site/s and region with legal compliance and promoting awareness of legal requirements.
  • Engage with site and Central HS function to develop the HS plan and strategy.
  • Safety inspections/walks, incident investigations and root cause analysis (such as vessel, SOV, WTG, OSS, Site/Hub facilities, helicopter facilities).
  • Documentation of safety inspections/walks.
  • Support and plan, executions of emergency exercises and Emergency Response Plan (execute and follow up).
  • Roll-out, participate and follow up of Health & Safety related campaigns both on- and offshore and on vessels.
  • Participate in and support toolbox talks, performance meetings, briefings and related activities.
  • Participate in site Health & Safety meetings and all other relevant Health & Safety meetings.
  • Support in the H&S component of contractor management processes (such as procurement, contractor performance evaluation, audits) related to the generation site.

Requirements:

  • Recognised qualification in Health and Safety Management (i.e. NEBOSH Diploma, HSE Masters or equivalent).
  • Extensive relevant work experience in an international organisation, preferable with a number of offshore wind farm projects.
  • Knowledge about safety management in compliance with ISO45001.
  • Full and detailed understanding of applicable H&S related legislation.
  • Experience in managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor.
  • Experience in auditing and incident investigation and are certified auditor (ISO or similar).
  • Ability to prioritise own work load and organise tasks and time an effectively, excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Confident in using MS Office.
  • Strong communication and excellent Business English language skills, Danish language skills is a strong advantage.
  • GWO and medial certification, otherwise participation in and passing GWO and medical training is mandatory.
  • Action oriented by consistently setting goals for yourself and taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
