As part of the UK Consulting & Engineering team, you will give technical support for Technical Due Diligence process of stand-alone BESS energy projects as well as BESS coupled with PV/Wind energy projects. In addition to the above, you will support the UK Technical Asset Management team in the technical management of BESS assets.

Job Description:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform technical due diligences of BESS assets, both stand alone as well as coupled with PV and wind
  • Perform site visit to projects already in operation to identify any issues that could affect the long-term operation of the plants
  • Perform site visits to terrains where projects are being developed to detect the risks associated with the terrain, restrictions (rivers, electric lines, protected trees), the surroundings and other possible constraints that could affect the project both during the construction or the operational phase
  • Design layout of BESS plants
  • Simulation and sizing of the BESS in standalone and hybrid projects using the tool Homer, SAM or similar software.
  • Monitoring of the BESS projects under construction, to detect any deviation and issues that may affect the project during the operational phase
  • Support the construction team in the Owner´s Engineering services
  • Support during the development phase of the BESS projects
  • Support the Technical Asset Management team in recurrent performance monitoring of BESS
  • Support the UK Country manager in the commercial action to increase the BESS services offered to the market
  • Work alongside the Transaction Team of Vector to provide the technical inputs for BESS Feasibility Studies/Business Cases

Key requirements:

  • MSC in Energy/ Industrial Engineer or similar
  • Strong knowledge of the UK electricity market
  • 4-5 years of experience in the energy market as a minimum
  • Experience in the BESS sector, either on the consultancy, asset management or the manufacturing side
  • Capability to write reports in a synthetic yet accurate manner
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office package, AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project or Primavera
  • Language Skills: English (other languages are considered as a plus)

Desired requirements:

  • Charter Engineer qualifications will be considered a plus
  • Technical knowledge of solar PV and wind
  • Other renewable markets experience (CSP, Biomass, Hydro...)
  • Knowledge of specialized software, especially PVSys, Homer or similar.
