Taylor Hopkinson has been exclusively retained to build out a project team, who will develop and execute a Scotwind project, for a new offshore wind consortium. The Site Investigation Lead will be responsible for Initiating, defining and executing site investigation campaigns.

This is a full time permanent role to be based in Edinburgh.

Role

  • Run requests for proposals, assess offers and select preferred subcontractors for site conditions measurement devices in compliance with the budget and in connection with the commercial team.
  • In coordination with the Substructures package manager, ensure that the soil investigation campaigns are compliant with the needs in terms of substructures design and certification.
  • Analyse geophysical and geotechnical studies undertaken for the project.
  • Support the wind turbine and floater selection activities, including the engagement with the substructure's contractors, such as mooring and anchoring systems suppliers.
  • Participate in engineering and design due diligences and monitor the work carried out by the project's advisor on soil assessment during any relevant process, such as the participation in energy auctions or the Financial Close of the projects.
  • Prepare Site Conditions Reports for the Basis of Design of the projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate works with technical contractors who are supporting our soil investigation activities in different markets.
  • Write reports, applications, memos, etc. with different degrees on technical content required in our project development activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in pre-operational offshore wind.
  • Experience in Project Design Certification and FEED.
  • Experience of working in different consortia and multicultural environment will be viewed favourably.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of electricity generation and renewable energy, in particular advanced knowledge of the offshore wind technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Power Point and Word; familiarity with design programs and database systems are advantages.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis, especially within the UK.
