Tax Manager

Leading offshore wind service company seeking Tax Manager to join their Global Tax Team, based out of their Boston office. This international organization requires a candidate with a strong background in US tax and a track record of handling complex tax matters. Understanding of the European VAT system is a strong asset.

Role:

• Oversee all US tax-related activities, serving as the primary contact for tax authorities, clients, suppliers, JV partners, our project teams and external tax advisors.
• Provide expert advice on tax structuring, tax reporting and compliance matters, ensuring alignment with our global tax strategies and policies.
• Demonstrate proficiency in US inbound and outbound tax regulations, with a particular focus on international taxation topics.
• Display familiarity with transfer pricing and possess a basic understanding of the European VAT system is considered an asset.
• Take ownership of various tax projects, managing them independently or collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
• Showcase strong analytical and organizational skills, effectively meeting deadlines while promoting a healthy work-life balance.
• Exhibit proactive and flexible qualities, actively participating in team events and collaborating with colleagues and peers.
• Communicate effectively in English (any additional language skills would be considered an asset).
• Hold a University Master degree in Law or Applied Economics with an advanced specialization in Tax (equivalents from European degrees are welcome).

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant US tax experience, with a preference for 9-10 years or more.
• In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, particularly within an international environment.
• Possess a smart, pragmatic and innovative mindset, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Capacity to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel regularly for short domestic trips and twice-yearly overseas trips.
