Opportunity for a mandarin speaking professional, with experience in wind, or oil and gas, to join a Top 1 Chinese offshore wind equipment manufacturing company, as Project Director.

Depending on the seniority of the candidate, the position of Vice President may be offered to the right candidate.

This is a remote working role, ideally in Germany. Cover the Europe region, reporting to HQ in China.

As the Project Director/ VP, you will be responsible for building and managing a team, working closely with wind project owners, localizing production in Europe, and overseeing sales and project management activities in collaboration with our manufacturing base in China.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Wind Project Delivery:
   • Oversee all aspects of wind project delivery, including planning, execution, and completion, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
   • Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities, manage resources, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
   • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary to achieve project milestones and performance targets.
2. Team Building in Europe:
   • Build a competent and dedicated team in Europe to support wind project delivery and business expansion in the region.
   • Recruit, train, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
   • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture to drive project success.
3. Collaboration with Wind Project Owners:
   • Establish and maintain strong relationships with wind project owners, addressing their needs and ensuring effective communication throughout the project phases.
   • Act as the primary point of contact for project owners, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
4. Localization of Production in Europe:
   • Identify suitable manufacturing or final assembly sites in the European region to localize production and support the company's growth strategy.
   • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish localized production facilities, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
5. Sales and Project Management Collaboration:
   • Build and lead a sales or project management team that can effectively collaborate with the company's manufacturing base in China.
   • Coordinate with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless integration of project execution and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

• Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• A proven track record in sales or project management within the wind or oil and gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the wind industry (or oil & gas industry) and market trends.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support project activities and business development.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while effectively collaborating with global teams.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering wind projects on time and within budget.

Location: The VP/Project Director can be based anywhere in Europe, with the flexibility to travel as required for project-related activities.
