The WTG Manager will be part of a new development and execution team working directly for the developer of ScotWind offshore wind projects.

As WTG Manager you will be responsible for managing the technical and logistic aspects related to the WTGs of the projects to bring the projects to financial close with an attractive business case followed by timely handover to operation. You will work in close cooperation with the Technology & Supply Chain team as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

You will be joining a dynamic and highly motivated team of passionate energy professionals who have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in executing floating and fixed-bottom offshore wind projects.

The Role:

  • Management and lead of the WTG package for floating wind projects through different stages of development, including coordination of meetings, communication exchanges and stakeholder management across different disciplines.
  • Participate in WTG supplier procurement, including the development of procurement strategies, engineering, delivery and execution timelines and contract negotiations.
  • Provide support during the negotiation of technical aspects of contracts to reach the desired balance between risk mitigation and cost reduction.
  • Liaise in interaction with suppliers, keeping a broad knowledge of the state of the market, throughout the project planning and execution phases.
  • Preparation and review of technical specifications and documentation.
  • Anticipate, identify, and manage risks related to the WTG.
  • Support and coordinate different activities across departments (foundation, consenting, installation, wind resource assessment, O&M, H&S, etc.).
  • Participate in WTG-related technical due diligence activities on all relevant disciplines (next generation and current designs, engineering, certification, delivery, installation, commissioning, operation, etc.).
  • Optimize the business case and provide input to the financial model including risk, yield, CAPEX and OPEX budget.
  • Participate to writing and negotiation of early works engineering contracts if any, of budgets (DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX).
  • Manage proactively schedule, budgets, resources, risks, and opportunities for projects.
  • Ensure a technical support to commercial discussions for the main packages (turbine, floater…).

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in STEM+F (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Finance).
  • Several years' experience of project development in the wind industry.
  • Proven track record in project management of large-scale projects within a delivery orientated framework.
  • High negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills
  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis, especially within the UK.
