Accounting Specialist Munich

An exciting opportunity to join a global top 1 solar module manufacturer as an Accounting Specialist, based in Munich.

Please note, this position requires fluent Mandarin speaking skills.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in managing various accounting processes specifically focused on the Europe region. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant recording of expenses, analyzing financial data, improve the operating procedure, coaching and training other departments for financial related topics, participate in financial projects and supporting various finance initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Expense declarations support and supervision:

  • Maintain accurate records of expenses incurred by the company’s operations in the Europe region.
  • Reconcile expense reports and receipts to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • In charge of office expense, finance dept. related expense declarations.

2. Expense Analysis:

  • Analyse expense trends and variances to identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on expense analysis per type, cost center, individual, budget etc. to management as required.

3. Daily support to other departments on financial topics:

  • Provide on-time feedback on questions or help requests from other departments regarding financial topics.
  • Collaborate with other accounting and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Continuously provide training to EU staff on business processes, standards, policies and system usage related to finance and tax to ensure their familiarity with the requirements.

4. Vendor and Bank Relations:

  • Communicate with vendors regarding expense documentation, policy adherence, and any discrepancies clarification.
  • Support HQ to do local communication with banks.

5. Compliance and Policy Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with company expense policies and guidelines.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and policies related to expense reporting.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of finance related procedures.
  • Participate in projects by collaborating with various teams, both local and at HQ to streamline processes and resolve issues.

7. Documentation:

  • Draft local standards, work flows, training materials, etc. related to EU accounting and financial topics.
  • Systemize existing documentation.

8. Audit Support:

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to expense accounting.

About you:

  • Have a solid understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and expense reconciliation principles.
  • Degree in Finance.
  • First experience in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both English and German.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Quick learner and highly supportive as a strong team player.
  • Experience with SAP, ERP systems is a plus.
