Asset Manager (Onshore Wind)

Location: Flexibility to be based in Lyon or anywhere in France

Travelling: You would need to be open to travelling to the site in Chaintrix

Our organisation is at the forefront of delivering a 500MW pipeline of onshore wind and solar projects across France.

In the role of Asset Manager, you’ll be tasked with overseeing a diverse range of contractors and orchestrating all asset management activities within the country. Your goal will be to ensure optimal asset performance, budget adherence, and risk management throughout the operational lifecycle.

The Asset Manager will also be responsible for carrying out tasks to ensure operational readiness for asset adoption.

You’ll be working closely with local stakeholders and various business functions (across Southern Europe, UK, and Ireland). Your role will be to ensure that any factors impacting the smooth operation of the local business are comprehended, reported, and proactively managed.

This role will ensure that all operations align with regulatory and contractual obligations and adhere to our company’s standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for the integration of new assets into operation.
  • Ensuring a seamless transition of new assets into the operational fleet, contributing to gate reviews throughout the project lifecycle, especially during commissioning and handover stages.
  • Ensuring assets are managed in compliance with H&S requirements, local regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Assisting in the implementation of asset management standards and procedures.
  • Minimizing operational risk, controlling costs, and optimizing performance.
  • Implementing the OWSB annual business plan at the site level.

This France-based role will primarily focus on managing our French assets (wind farms, substations, other renewable projects), while also providing support for asset management work in other countries of interest (Italy).

The role will necessitate regular travel to the UK and occasional visits to other portfolio countries (Italy, Spain, Greece).

Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of the renewable energy sector in France, including key markets and players.
  • Significant asset management experience within the onshore wind industry in France.
  • Experience with the onboarding and handover of new assets. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of contractual management, including the ability to navigate Long Term Service Agreements and manage stakeholders (both internal and external).
  • Experience in operational business strategy, planning, and budgeting.
  • Strong business acumen, with a commercial focus – able to identify key issues and bring clarity to team efforts.
  • Native-like proficiency in French and English
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
  • A valid driving license
