Construction Lead Germany, Onshore Renewables

Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy company developing, constructing, and operating solar, storage and onshore wind projects throughout Europe.

We are currently supporting them in the recruitment of a Construction Lead, a pivotal role in the successful execution of renewable energy projects.

This position requires an individual with a strong background in project management, renewable energy, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Experience managing the construction of renewable energy projects in Germany is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the construction of a portfolio of onshore renewable projects in Germany, with a particular focus on PV.
• Manage solar PV projects from pre-construction to successful completion of construction.
• Work with the teams in the country and at corporate level to support business development.
• Work with the Technical team at corporate level to improve procedures and specifications.
• Reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Setting up and delivery of good practice PM systems and controls.
• Work with procurement team to select the optimum EPC and ICP contractor from RFP to contractual negotiations and final selection.
• Securing strong interaction between both business development and assets management departments.
• Prepare budget and time schedule of the project and ensure the project is built in accordance with them.
• Ensure all projects comply with the requirements of the applicable permits and contracts.

Requirements:

• It is essential to have 5 years of construction experience of the renewable energy industry, ideally from an IPP, utility, or similar company.
• Knowledge and understanding of the constraints affecting the solar industry in the UK.
• Project Management experience in solar and renewable plants connected to both MV and HV networks.
• Successful track record in project delivery and managing various stakeholders.
• Strong relationship with EPC’s and ICP’s.
• Strong relationship with DNO’s on different levels, design, and construction.
• Knowledge of fundamental project management systems and procedures in the construction industry.
• Full driving license.
• Construction related formal qualification, ideally in an engineering related discipline.
