Construction Manager

Overview: As a Civil Construction Manager specializing in onshore wind projects in Korea, you will lead and oversee all civil engineering and construction activities related to wind farm development. Your role will involve managing contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving the successful execution of civil works within project timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop detailed construction plans and schedules for civil works, considering project requirements and timelines.
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, budget, and quality standards.
    • Identify and select qualified contractors for civil construction activities through competitive bidding processes.
    • Manage contractor relationships, monitor performance, and enforce contractual obligations.
    • Supervise the design and construction of wind farm infrastructure, including foundations, access roads, crane pads, and substation facilities.
    • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all construction activities.
    • Monitor environmental impacts and implement mitigation measures to minimize project impacts on local ecosystems.
    • Establish quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections to ensure construction activities meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Address non-conformances and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Monitor project expenditures and control costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in civil construction management, preferably in renewable energy projects or large-scale infrastructure development.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Korean and English, both written and verbal.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with Korean regulatory requirements and permitting processes for construction projects.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site at various project locations across Korea as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
