Taylor Hopkinson is searching for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer for a world’s largest hydrogen producer company.
The job location is flexible. This person will travel quite a lot within EMEA.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and guide strategies for project execution and control.
- Collaborate with other engineering fields, suppliers, and colleagues as needed to plan and carry out projects.
- Create and manage a project timeline and budget, complying with all relevant safety, engineering, and change management standards.
- Determine plant instrumentation using smart plant instrumentation or similar systems for sizing various Control valves, transmitters, analyzers, sampling systems, flow instrumentation, custody metering and pneumatic systems.
- Primarily concentrate on instrument design, onsite installation and commissioning tasks.
- Possess knowledge of DCS architecture and plant control networks.
- Create and apply PLC, HMI & DCS code configurations as required. Previous understanding / recognition of PLCs (GE, Rockwell, Omron, Siemens WinCC Flex/TIA) and DCS (ABB/ Siemens PCS7/ Delta V) systems would be beneficial.
- Have relevant ATEX / SIS experience.
- Engage in P&ID reviews.
- Support in factory and site acceptance tests and oversee construction contractors.
- Take responsibility for, and actively participate in pre and post commissioning on projects that you have been involved in or assisting teammates.
- Maintain a high level of engineering practice, technical governance and operational discipline throughout all these tasks.
Requirements:
- To possess strong design skills and field experience as a Control & Instrument Engineer.
- To have a successful history in specifying, executing, and implementing instrumented systems.
- To gain practical on-site plant experience, preferably with a hands-on approach and contractor supervision experience.
- To hold an Engineering Degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering) and have extensive relevant experience.
- To demonstrate discipline in working to a schedule and managing competing priorities.
- To exhibit self-motivation along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- To prove the ability to work productively, both unsupervised and as part of multi-discipline technical teams.
- To travel extensively within the EMEA region to support projects for short durations, and to occasionally respond to plant problems outside working hours.
- To be willing to travel at short notice.
- To have proficiency in English, but knowledge of additional languages relevant to the EMEA region would be advantageous.
- To expect to work at times as part of international teams as well as at a local level.
