General Manager-Chemical Logistics

We are working with a global leader in Chemical Logistics, Marine Agency, Offshore, Integrated Logistics who are currently recruiting for a General Manager for their Korea projects.
Your role will focus on: ISO Tanks, Chemical Logistics.

-Purpose: The function of this role is to lead the department, to pro-actively market and canvas the market for new customers which grow our tank container & chemical logistics business department. To set the strategic objectives for the department country wide, aligned with the global strategy of the Product. Also, to map the market, develop existing customers in the country, broaden our service scope, increase share of wallet.

-Responsibilities:

* P&L responsibility of the department.

* Acquisition of new business from new customers and existing customers based on a value proposition and solution, including but not limited to:

1. Special tanks transport & related services on round trips.

2. One way standard (T11) tank agency transport

3. Dry bulk logistics and transport

4. Liquid gas (T75) tank transport & related services

5. Compressed gas (T50) transport & related services

6. Corrosive product that needs lined tanks transport & related services

7. Temperature controlled tanks transport & related services

8. One stop service for chemical customers, covering full range of Chemical Forwarding services including FCL, LCL, Airfreight, road transport, customs processing, storage & distribution, value added services.

9. Deliveries to vessels, waste, and slob removal

* Set strategy and targets for commercial activities in the country, aligned with group product targets.

* Own the development of opportunities with local and MNC customers of any size, manage the relationship at all levels.

* Own the development of tank container NVOCC’s and other sources of one way tanks including tank manufacturers, leasing companies, NVOCC’s of any size, manage the relationship at all levels, meet and exceed expectations of all parties.

* Lead, inspire, coach, and train the team.

* Execute the sales and marketing function.

* Enabling the sales success, ensure sales targets & KPI are met.

* Organize and maintain sales reports, forecast, and budget.

* Coordinate with sales and operational teams within the Ben Line network on commercial activities, opportunities and on boarding new business.

* Manage local and collaborate with regional procurement to support opportunities with competitive cost.

* Lead and organize efficiency improvements.

* Implement full use of BLA systems and tools.

* Support the development of business in other countries which is decided or influenced in.

* Implement Key Account Management for local and global customers.

* Maintain and update CRM client information details. Specifically contact information, scope of work, and visit timelines.

* Map the market.

* Any other reasonable duties as requested by the senior management of the company.

-Skills: Commercial drive and ability to engage with customers.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Empathic personality.

Key Account management skills.

Excellent Presentation skills, ability to present solutions, value added services.

Competent in Microsoft Office.

-Experience: Minimum 10 years leadership role in freight forwarding experience or chemical logistics.

Chemical vertical customer relationships.

Proven track record of managing teams across the country.

*Desirable: Tank container experience.

-Knowledge: Deep chemical logistics market knowledge required.
