Planner required for a major offshore wind developer based in Scotland
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the ongoing development and management of the detailed project programme, reviewing Contractor programmes and ensuring that these are correctly integrated into the overall project programme, taking into account interfaces with Project Management, Financing and Engineering activities, and Regulatory/Consenting requirements, while ensuring clear, timely and accurate information is provided to Project Management.
- Assess and communicate schedule impact of project change control notifications, and schedule impact of progress reported at package level. Undertake analysis of Delay Events notified within Contractors’ Claims to determine the validity of these claims.
- Ensure that this information is visible to the Senior Planner and Project Services Manager as well as the Project Leadership team.
- Monthly updates to elements of Project programme including review of Contractor programme submissions. Work closely with Senior Planner and Project Services Manager to ensure that any knock-on impacts through delays to interface points are identified and raised to Project Management for mitigation.
- Identify critical path for both specific work packages and the overall project programme, criticality of work scopes, and ensure that potential delays to critical activities are identified and mitigations can be identified through quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis and What-if Scenario planning.
- Work closely with Senior Planner and Project Services Manager to develop project programme reporting outputs in line with project management requirements. Produce package level programme reports and dashboards as required.
- Other Planning related duties as required.
Requirements
- 5 years of Project Planning experience, working within large, multi-contract Engineering and Construction projects, including building fully integrated complex activity networks.
- Highly skilled user of Primavera P6 planning software.
- Experience in carrying out delay analysis and analysis of schedule implications of contractor claims.
- Experience in running what-if scenarios and schedule risk analysis.
- Ability to work with package and project managers, interface manager and 3rd party contractors to identify schedule pinch points, interface issues and potential SIMOPS clashes and identify optimal schedule solutions.
- Ability to produce clear and concise information that will assist senior management decision making.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills will be essential for this role, allowing you to forge and maintain strong working relationships.
- Focus on continuous improvement, striving to improve the quality of planning output as an aid to project decision making.
- Experience of Offshore Wind projects (highly desirable).
