Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement measures to make progress for a specified project as the deputy project development manager working alongside an experienced senior project manager who has overall ownership of the project:
    • The hire is expected to step in as the acting project manager should the senior project manager ever need to temporarily vacate the project site due to conflicting work commitments as his/ her second-in-command.
  • Identify any risk factors that arise in the ordinary course of day-to-day project management activities that may give rise to development challenges, and design appropriate preventive measures to overcome obstacles.
  • Manage all relevant internal and external stakeholders, including with potential project partners, through various means for timely obtainment of development permits.
  • Upkeep up-to-date suite of project documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain up-to-date market intelligence database for offshore wind projects nationwide
  • Lead identification and feasibility analysis for new projects (both greenfield and brownfield acquisitions) under consideration.
  • Keep abreast of any local regulatory issues/ updates and the degree of impact such changes may pose on the project.
  • As requested on an ad hoc basis, contribute to various project tasks.
  • (at least) 50% business travel to project site, nearby localities and government bureaus expected – this is to allow sound management of key local project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil engineering or similar preferred.
  • Strong experience in a similar hands-on project management role with key focus on on/offshore wind or other project developments.
  • Project financing, contract administration, and permitting experience will be a plus.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with all types of project stakeholders.
  • Adept at managing technical and regulatory discussions with appropriate engineering and legal experts and government agencies.
  • Strong understanding of local Korean power distribution, transmission, regulation, and approval process.
  • Google Earth, QGIS, AutoCad, WindPRO, prior geotechnical/geophysical surveying experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English and Korean.
