Job Summary:

The Renewable Project Development Director will oversee all stages of project management, collaborating with managers and contractors to ensure seamless budgeting, scheduling, and coordination processes. Responsibilities include monitoring project progress, ensuring specifications and budgets are met, and preparing progress reports for shareholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all relevant local and national regulations and permits for renewable energy projects.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for project implementation post-award and PPA signing.
  • Lead and oversee vendor selection and procurement processes of engineering services
  • Engage with government authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Co-manage the contracting strategy.
  • Perform comprehensive risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for identified risks.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of detailed project feasibility studies, including technical, economic, and environmental assessments.
  • Develop and update periodic project progress reports.
  • Demonstrate passion for infrastructure projects in emerging markets, including renewable energy.
  • Facilitate the handover of projects to operational teams, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Be a collaborative team player while excelling in independent work.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Showcase a robust 10-year track record in project assessment, design, and construction management, with a specialisation in Indonesian infrastructure, particularly in Hydro and/or Wind power projects.
  • Demonstrate expertise in contributing to vital project development aspects, including key investigations, design processes, and construction management documentation. This involves budgeting, specifying requirements, drafting tender documents, and preparing technical documents for activities such as feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments, and monitoring and supervision services contracts.
  • Exhibit familiarity with IFC Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability, emphasising HSES management in developing countries. Also, possess hands-on experience in documenting and specifying compliance requirements for consultants and works contractors.
  • Display a willingness to travel at relatively short notice, showcasing adaptability and a proactive approach to project demands.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate fluency in spoken English, an essential skill for effective communication and collaboration.
