Senior Legal Counsel
Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal guidance and support on a wide range of matters related to commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and other legal issues pertinent to the solar industry.

Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise various agreements, contracts, and legal documents, including supplier contracts, distributor agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs, and other commercial arrangements.

Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations, transactions, and projects. Develop proactive strategies to safeguard the company’s interests and minimise legal exposure.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies across all business activities. Stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends impacting the solar energy sector.

Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, regulatory filings, corporate resolutions, and internal policies. Provide guidance on corporate structuring, restructuring, and governance best practices.

Manage legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters effectively. Collaborate with external counsel as needed to resolve legal disputes and protect the company’s legal rights.

Liaise with internal stakeholders, including senior management, sales, finance, operations, and R&D teams, to provide legal support, advice, and training as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be fully bilingual in English and Mandarin
- Bachelor degree from an accredited law school.
- Passed the Bar in any state in the US
- Minimum of 5 – 8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or commercial law firm environment or a in the renewable space.
- Proven expertise in commercial contracts, corporate law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of the solar energy industry and related legal frameworks is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, integrity, and sound judgement.
- Must be able to work flexible hours since the candidate will be in constant communication with HQ in China and all times zones in the US.
