Role Summary:
Join our team as a Turbine Major Component Specialist, where you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing our wind turbine technology. Your expertise will be pivotal in:

  • Executing major component exchanges, such as generators and gearboxes.
  • Leading up-tower repair initiatives.
  • Contributing to a variety of Engineering Projects.
  • Providing troubleshooting support and service beyond major component tasks.
  • Managing a team of skilled technicians, prioritizing safety at every step.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues within mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Assisting with general site operations, including routine servicing.
  • Preparing and certifying all necessary tools and equipment for operational readiness.
  • Adhering to customer and site-specific protocols.
  • Documenting incidents in alignment with our Health and Safety policy.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for emergency cover, including weekends and holidays.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and across all business levels.
  • Embracing regular travel as a component of the role.

Qualifications:

  • A foundation of formal qualifications (SVQ/NVQ level 3 or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical disciplines, or substantial industry experience.
  • Preferably three years of experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical roles within industrial settings such as wind farms or power stations.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in heavy lifting operations.
  • Slinger signaller certification.
  • Prior experience with wind turbines.
  • Valid health and safety certifications.
  • Competence with Microsoft Suite.
  • Familiarity with working under CDM regulations.
